Many of the children helped by The Ricky King Children’s Fund fall between the cracks of larger organizations and insurance agencies. We are often the last hope for so many families. These severely handicapped children have several ailments and do not have an organization that meets their immediate needs. These children suffer from such conditions and diseases as cerebral palsy, paralysis, congenital muscular dystrophy, autism, spina bifida and hydrocephalus, to name just a few.
These children often come from hard working families that are struggling with the financial obligations of having a child with a disability. There is no other non-profit organization focused on providing medical equipment to disabled children in Lee, Collier and Charlotte Counties. The Ricky King Children’s Fund has been existence since 1978.
The Keep Kids Movin’ program has provided items such as walkers, hospital beds, bath chairs, helmet therapy and van conversions. The Ricky King Children’s Fund provides these disabled children with the medical equipment and services they need and that are so often not covered by Medicaid and insurance. We give these children the best version of “good” health we can give them.
The Ricky King Children’s Fund and/or Ricky King Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization.
